Sue Bream
Sue Bream - Personal Trainer:
Sue Bream is an A.C.S.M. and A.C.E. certified personal trainer and locally Certified Pilates Instructor. She has worked in the fitness industry since 1998 and has been teaching Pilates since 2007. Sue learned to love fitness as an adult (definitely not as a kid).
While attending University of Oregon in 1974, she saw Steve Prefontaine run his very last race the day before he was killed in a car crash. Watching him run made a lasting impression on her. After putting on the “freshman 30 lbs” she started running and never looked back! While living in Jackson Hole, Montana, Sue became very active outdoors skiing, hiking, climbing, and bike riding. Her first weight training class was at Kalispell Community College (in Kalispell, Montana) in the late 1970′s. ”I can remember lifting weights and then going to my chemistry class afterwards with my arms just shaking so hard, I could barely hold a pencil!”
Sue began her personal training career at Seattle Athletic Club Downtown and after a couple of years there, started her own personal training business, “Fitness Choices”. She also ran “Get Your Bearings Inline Skate School from 1997-2007. In addition to teaching 100′s of adults and kids to skate, Sue taught advanced skills including inline speed skating, and conditioning workouts on skates. She competed in both outdoor inline marathons as well as indoor short track.
She thrives on being physically active. With a history of running, inline skating, and walking in half and full marathons Sue is enjoying getting back in touch with her running roots after spending the last several years as an inline speed skater and skate school owner. She runs 2-3 half marathons a year, including the Seattle Half Marathon several times, the Phoenix Rock and Roll Half Marathon, Mercer Island Half Marathon, Bellingham Half, North Olympic Discovery Half and Tacoma Narrows Half. In addition to teaching at least 5 Pilates classes a week, Sue likes to take classes from others. Lately, Zumba has become one of her favorite ways to burn calories, dance, and stay fit.
Sue’s commitment to helping others weave fitness and healthy eating into their lifestyles obvious when you work with her.
She loves working with men and women ages 40 and up as well as working with pre-and post-natal women. Sue teaches “Pilates for Moms” classes, which she began about 5 years ago. Another special interest is working with cancer and exercise. She is also a certified "Cancer Exercise Specialist".

Janell Hartman
Janell Hartman – Hatha Yoga:
A longtime lover of physical fitness, Janell first tried yoga as many folks do--at the local gym. She soon began practicing consistently as an avenue of self-care during her decade of social work with homeless women. Within this intense environment, the practical benefits of asana (postures), pranayama (breath/energy work) and meditation became immediately apparent.
She completed her teacher training in 2005 and advanced teacher training in 2006 with 8-Limbs Yoga Center, and has deepened her direction towards yoga as a therapeutic modality in her studies with Tias Little, as well as numerous trainings from other accomplished teachers. Strong yet safe flow classes, restorative yoga, and teaching basics to beginners are her areas of expertise. A reverence for the natural world is reflected within class structures which honor the flux of seasonal energies that influence our physiology and emotions.
Janell constantly seeks opportunities to deepen, explore and experiment. She encourages her students to do the same.

Ria Steele
Ria
Steele ZIN – 50/50:
My name is Ria, for most of my life I've been dancing, playing percussion and training as an athlete. Raised in San Francisco in a yogic community which helped to establish a solid foundation in healthy living.
I have spent a lifetime of study in the philosophy behind true and complete living for total health and harmony. It is with this in mind that I teach my classes, help to build this Club and perform on stage.
Seeking ever a life of balance I offset my fitness training with dance and music. From West African to Ragga Jam, traditional cultural dances from Mexico to Afrobeat with local band Cascadia '10, I love to move to a good beat which is why I think 50/50 Class is a really fun way to exercise!
I live right here in Fremont and am also the bookkeeper of the Fremont Health Club. You can find me in our Club teaching 50/50 three times a week, having fun getting fit and chatting it up with our members while supporting a healthy community every day. I can definitely promise you, if you've never been to the Fremont Health Club, just one visit and you'll love it as much as I do!
